Currently, we are looking for a Corporate Accountant to join the ArcBest team. The Corporate Accountant assists with SEC and other filings, preparation of supporting schedules, financial analysis, benchmarking, internal controls documentation, accounting for certain reserves , and other special projects.


Your contribution may include:

  • Gather data for various reports, assist with data input and preparation of schedules.
  • Assist with preparation of work papers for SEC filings.
  • Reference, verify, and proof data included in SEC filings, XBRL documents and other public filings.
  • Research various SEC reporting related topics.
  • Assist with SOX internal control documentation, with an emphasis on IT general controls.
  • Prepare schedules for the accounting of certain reserves.
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As a Corporate Accountant, you will be a member of the ArcBest Corporate Accounting team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on workload and time of year.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. 

Experience: Minimum, one to two years’ experience in accounting, preferred. Public accounting experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with a focus in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Certifications: Eligible to sit for CPA exam, preferred.
