Currently, we are looking for an Accounts Receivable Analyst to join the ArcBest team. The Accounts Receivable Analyst manages daily account balances for the largest customer of the corporation. This position is also responsible for collection of delinquent accounts by contacting customers, investigating circumstances of non-payment, and implementing corrective actions that effectively eliminate customer disputes and payment process inefficiencies. The Accounts Receivable Analyst is responsible for a variety of highly analytical tasks

Your contribution may include:

  • Resolve past due account issues, billing disputes, misapplied payments, and other requests as needed to insure accurate and timely payment of invoices.
  • Determine root cause issue for late payments.
  • Implement problem solving solutions to prevent future late payments from customers.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service for both internal and external customers.
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of individual customer accounts to handle account balance inquiries efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.
  • Build, develop, and grow all internal and external business relationships vital to the success of increasing revenue growth and customer experience across the Enterprise.
  • Improve quality, productivity, and effectiveness through the Quality Process in the handling of customers with a past due A/R balance.
  • Participate in various projects to assist management in efforts to improve overall DSO.
  • Research external A/P systems and design efficiencies with accounts on their payment processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to A/R Specialists and Lead Specialists, fostering a culture of constant growth and development among the group.
  • Work and contribute in a team setting to accomplish overall department and individual goals.
  • Lead meetings and conferences with various groups such as Customers, Rating, Yield, Sales, Operations, Customer Service, etc.
  • Maintain flexibility with workload including working all service lines of the Corporation.
  • Manage portfolio of largest and most complex Corporate Accounts.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned. 

As an Accounts Receivable Analyst, you will be a member of the ArcBest Financial Services Accounts Receivable team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on work load.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related field, preferred.

Experience: Minimum, four years’ experience in Logistics, Operations, Transportation and/or other related fields, preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn new systems quickly.

Other Requirements: Proficient knowledge and interpretation of rating applications using customer contracts, pricing tariffs and quotes. Proficient knowledge of NMFC with a good understanding of class application to freight invoices. Proficient understanding of the operational processes involved in handling freight from pickup through delivery. Proficient understanding of multiple TMS systems utilized by third party logistics and freight payment agencies. Ability to understand and work with multiple electronic data products such as EDI, FTP, eInvoicing and eStatements. Ability to balance the additional responsibilities of managing larger delinquent accounts while handling a larger overall account portfolio. Proficient knowledge of all service markets provided by ArcBest.
