Currently, we are looking for a Customer Service Specialist, Part-Time to join the ArcBest team. The Customer Service Specialist,  Part-Time is responsible for managing a variety of shipments and addressing customer concerns. This position requires superior customer service skills as well as the efficient utilization of resources including effective customer, service center, and field communication to make decisions that resolve urgent transportation-related scenarios.

Your contribution may include:

  • Provide accurate information on the entire suite of logistics solutions offered by ArcBest.
  • Learn and adhere to internal work processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Schedule shipments.
  • Communicate shipment requirements to the local service center.
  • Provide quotes, pickup requests and review billing disputes.
  • Resolve complex in transit problems.
  • Manage multiple tracking systems to provide seamless coverage.
  • Engage customer, carrier, and internal ArcBest contacts through phone and multiple inboxes.
  • Create BOL’s and provide shipment specific documentation.
  • Communicate shipment statuses to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintain communication to ensure freight delivers within the customer's expectations.
  • Demonstrate mastery of multiple complex computer programs.
  • Identify and initiate recovery for at risk freight.
  • Coordinate projects, provide customer reports and audit as required.
  • Identify delivery delays and communicate delivery changes as necessary. 
  • Communicate additional charges to customers.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As the Customer Service Specialist, Part-Time, you will be a member of the Time Critical Fulfillment team in Fort Smith, AR. This position is a part time position that will average fewer than 30 hours per week. Work hours generally fall between 6:00 am – 8:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload. Ready to apply? Before doing so, please make sure you meet the minimum requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferred.

Experience: Prior experience in customer service, problem solving or logistics, preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient understanding of PC and mainframe computer applications, including Microsoft Office programs.
