Currently, we are looking for a Final Mile Specialist  to join the ArcBest team. The Final Mile Specialist sources and executes cost-effective solutions for Final Mile shipments through the use of the network of approved Final Mile carriers. This position negotiates with providers and carriers on cost and service levels as well as provides excellent customer service to ArcBest customers and employees.  The Final Mile Specialist also collaborates across the Customer Solutions department as well as across ArcBest to provide the best service and customer experience. 

 

Your contribution may include:

  • Develop and expand a practical and working knowledge of logistics.
  • Learn and adhere to internal work processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage all forms of communication effectively (i.e. inbound/outbound calls and emails).
  • Source capacity and services to ensure customer requests are met.
  • Negotiate rates with and dispatch shipments to providers and carriers.
  • Develop ArcBest core carrier relationships.
  • Respond in a timely manner to external and internal customer inquiries.
  • Collaborate across the Customer Solutions department and the Company to provide solutions for customers.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in an intense environment.
  • Other duties or projects, as assigned.

As the Final Mile Specialist  you will be a member of the ArcBest Customer Solutions: Support team. Your work hours may vary based on scheduling. Market coverage is provided from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm Monday through Friday and occasional irregular hours depending on workload. Ready to apply? Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferred.

Experience: Prior transportation and/or supply chain experience, preferred.  Knowledge of various departments, Service Center office policies, procedures and systems preferred. Working knowledge of all ArcBest organization business units, resources, systems and a broad perspective in supply chain and the transportation industry preferred. 

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
