Currently, we are looking for a Manager, Payroll and Benefits User Experience to join the ArcBest team. The Manager, Payroll and Benefits User Experience is responsible for supporting the ideation, execution, and evaluation of digital people application solutions for Absence, Benefits, Payroll, and Time Tracking. The position requires envisioning new and improved user experiences along with supporting organizational functions by using process improvements and solutions to streamline operations. The manager will participate in a broad set of initiatives in collaboration with the functional and technical teams and supervise, support, and develop a team responsible for the tasks previously mentioned.

Your contribution may include:

  • Coach employees to improve performance, communicate team goals, identify training opportunities, and provide support as needed to achieve the career aspirations of each employee.
  • Lead the review of Workday (or other vendor) releases and product roadmaps to identify and prioritize opportunities to leverage new features and functionality to improve and support business objectives.
  • Continuously research Workday capabilities and work with functional SMEs to vet against current business gaps and how the gap may be remediated.
  • Serve as key leader and partner to functional teams in the discovery, evaluation, selection, planning, design, implementation, training, and support for Workday tools (and other vendors as needed).
  • Architect solutions including configuration, integrations, testing, and implementation of new features and functionalities, managing cross-functional impact.
  • Actively participate in Workday Community Q&A Forum (or that of other vendors) and User Groups, apply to applicable Design Partner Groups and Early Adopter Programs, submit necessary brainstorms, and promote brainstorms that will benefit the organization.
  • Lead governance processes, roadmapping exercises, and cross functional resource planning.
  • Identify all change-impacted groups and ensure awareness, desire, knowledge, action, and reinforcement around the change is effectively managed through communication, demos, and training as needed.
  • Work with third party Workday partners, including Workday Support, Collaborative Solutions, etc., to support outstanding backlog items and issues unable to be resolved in-house.
  • Provide assistance, as needed, to end users.
  • Support Benefits Open Enrollment window with technical requirements.
  • Administer and provide guidance to analysts and coordinators for data extraction, loads including iLoads and EIBs, exporting templates, and validation errors.
  • Design, develop, and deploy Workday system configuration of various business process changes, notifications, alerts, validations, and help text for Absence, Benefits, Payroll Time Tracking, etc.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain user procedures, guidelines, and business processes documentation.
  • Oversee management of work schedule calendars and work schedule calendar groups that impact absence time off accruals and validations.
  • Manage payroll input integrations that may result in Absence Time Off accrual issues, review calculations, and data sources.
  • Facilitate the migration of necessary changes and corrections from Sandbox to Production.
  • Maintain the designated implementation tenant for end of month processing, perform necessary Absence and Time Tracking process, complete Payroll calculation, and ensure there are no errors related to the vacation liability process.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll functional team to perform resolutions for issues with Payroll preparation, processing, post completion, and settlement of Payroll Operations.
  • Serve as the intermediary, when necessary, between the Payroll functional and technical team to troubleshoot issues related to post completion processes including outbound integrations for garnishment withholding orders, the general ledger, and ACH bank files.
  • Identify, analyze, interpret, and communicate to the organization workforce management trends and metrics to improve human resources capacity planning and maximize labor utilization.
  • Monitor service interruptions and/or system latencies, report issues on Workday Customer Center, and provide internal team with status updates and mitigation plans.
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed in accordance with the current methodologies; clearly and frequently communicating project status to functional leads.
  • Develop and implement performance improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As the Manager, Payroll and Benefits User Experience, you will be a member of the ArcBest People Services team in Fort Smith, AR. Your work hours will be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Product Management, Marketing, Human Resources, or other related field. Strong experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience: Minimum, 8 years’ experience in a related field, preferred. HR, payroll, benefits, absence, time tracking, or other product development experience, required. 

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams. High comfort level with any technology.
