Currently, we are looking for an Operations Consultant to join the ArcBest team. As an Operations Consultant, you will answer phone calls from customers and provide customer service in response to customer demands and responds to customer emails. This position also investigates root causes of problems in the delivery of services and works to resolve conflicts and attempts to up-sell products and services not sold at the point of sales.

Your contribution may include:

  • Answer customer phone calls and emails.
  • Work to resolve problem issues (i.e., late transit, pricing disputes, etc.) with customers. 
  • Determine and provide some monetary and non-monetary compensation.
  • Document customer contact and dialogue in notes.
  • Reconsign shipments.
  • Work re-submits and online reservations.
  • Communicates and works with ABF terminals.
  • Identify system improvement needs and works to implement them. 
  • Work with other personnel, both internal and external to the department, to ensure designated projects are completed.
  • Be well versed in The Companies’ values system and communicates these effectively.
  • Attend all appropriate Departmental as well as Division-wide meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior management for the purpose of providing exact and reliable information and consultation.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As an Operations Consultant, you will be a member of the ArcBest Upack team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, generally between 7:00am to 8:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on work load.

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Prior customer service experience, preferred.
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
