Currently, we are looking for a Planning Analyst Intern to join the ArcBest team. As a member, you will execute transportation management services for ArcBest customers based on our agreed upon business rules, through the use of our Transportation Management Software (TMS) platform. Support all customer needs for data and shipment management; perform analysis on data and TMS outputs in order to detect and pro-actively address inefficiencies. Deliver dynamic transportation and logistics solutions that support the needs of the customer focusing heavily on lead times, visibility, transportation costs, and available carrier capacity. Offer special project support in order to continually integrate and update providers and vendors in the TMS. Execute any and all supply chain needs to support the objectives of the customer and ArcBest.

Your contribution may include:

  • Complete 30 day fast track training on transportation, logistics, and supply chain within ArcBest business and job shadow various roles within the organization
  • Support and execute pre-defined Managed Transportation solutions using the TMS software platform that helps customers become more efficient
  • Maintain documentation of all customer TMS processes and business rules to ensure continuity
  • Proactively monitor (track and trace) customers’ shipments/loads
  • Responsible for daily activities for numerous accounts to ensure all special requirements are met as requested by both internal and external customers
  • Other duties, as assigned

As a Planning Analyst Intern, you will be a member of the ArcBest Yield: Managed Transportation team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on work load.

  • Must be currently enrolled in college, seeking degree.
  • Industrial Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management majors, preferred.
  • Completion of Junior academic year, preferred. Must have superior Academic and leadership achievement.
