Currently, we are looking for a Yield Rating Student Worker to join the ArcBest team. This position assists in providing database-related support and guidance to internal and external departments.

Your contribution may include:

  • Ensure accurate customer pricing is loaded into the rating system database
  • Assist with pricing auto-loads
  • Prepare publication documents and distribute for loading
  • Monitor department email inbox to ensure timely responses
  • Perform audits of daily database loading items
  • Submit backdate/rerate requests when necessary to correct pricing application on freight bills
  • Assist with loading customer, rating, or special notes
  • Assist with weekly fuel surcharge updates for modified fuel applications
  • Assist with logging and tracking goal measures
  • Gain experience in database loading practices and applications
  • Maintain a positive attitude and high accuracy level in a fast-paced environment
  • Assistance with various analytical and administrative tasks
  • Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned

As a Student Worker, you will be a member of the ArcBest Yield: Rating Team. Your hours will be within Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on work load. The Student Worker hours will be part time; working less than 30 hours per week.

  • Education: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Business or related degree, preferred. Other related Engineering degrees will be considered.
  • Experience: Superior analytical and mult-tasking skills.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Excellent Excel, spreadsheet, and reporting skills.

    • Analytical Skills – Ability to gather raw data and to process that data into a meaningful form. Possesses a high level of competency in mathematics and data analysis.

    • Communication, Written – Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.
    • Detail oriented – Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.

    • Interpersonal – Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
    • Organized – Possessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task.
    • Responsible – Ability to be held accountable or answerable for one’s conduct.

    • Technical Aptitude – Ability to relate to topics which require understanding and specialized knowledge of mathematics and data analysis as well as learn new systems and processes quickly.
    • Working Under Pressure – Ability to maintain composure when exposed to stress.
