Currently, we are looking for a TL Services Specialist to join the ArcBest team.This position is responsible for managing a variety of shipments and addressing customer concerns. This position requires superior customer service skills as well as the efficient utilization of resources including effective customer, service center, and field communication to make decisions that resolve urgent transportation-related scenarios.

Your contribution may include:

  • Provide accurate information on Truckload Shipments.
  • Learn and adhere to internal work processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Communicate shipment requirements with the contracted carrier.
  • Negotiate carrier compensation. 
  • Resolve complex in transit problems.
  • Manage multiple tracking systems to provide seamless coverage.
  • Manage loads in an assigned region including rate negotiations, reconsignments and problem resolution.
  • Engage customer, carrier and internal ArcBest contacts through phone and multiple inboxes.
  • Communicate shipment statuses to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintain communication to ensure freight delivers within the customer's expectations.
  • Demonstrate mastery of multiple complex computer programs.
  • Identify and initiate recovery for at risk freight.
  • Coordinate projects and provide customer reports and audit as required.
  • Identify delivery delays and communicate delivery changes as necessary. 
  • Communicate additional charges to customers.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As a TL Services Specialist, you will be a member of the ArcBest TL Operations team in Fort Smith, AR. Work hours vary based on scheduling to provide market coverage during normal business hours, generally Monday-Friday between 6:00 am – 10:00 pm with occasional irregular and weekend hours depending on workload. Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferred.

Experience: Prior experience in customer service, problem solving or logistics, preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient understanding of PC and mainframe computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
