Currently, we are looking for a Contract Carrier Sales Specialist to join the ArcBest team. As a Contract Carrier Sales Specialist, you will be developing, maintaining, and growing relationships between carriers and ArcBest. You will utilize analytics and other tools to guide negotiations and buying decisions. This role combines sales, account management, and operations management to meet the transportation needs of our customers. Through this fast-paced, high-energy role you will make an impact on the global supply chain every day.

Your contribution may include:

  • Oversee carrier compliance and identify carrier capabilities.
  • Update company TMS with carrier and equipment availability.
  • Manage communication between customer sales and carriers.
  • Manage outbound calls and assist in completing when needed.
  • Negotiate rates to maximize profits.
  • Dispatch loads to carriers ensuring that customer deadlines are met.
  • Work with carriers to resolve issues.
  • Provide additional support to sales and accounting teams.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • As a Carrier Sales Representative you will work closely with our extensive network of carriers, as well as develop new relationships focusing on improving efficiency and managing transportation costs. You will be responsible for taking a proactive approach in mastering the pricing and capacity fluctuations in the truckload shipping market.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with carriers to expand capacity opportunities.
  • Establish internal relationships within ArcBest to expand business with our carrier base.

As a Contact Carrier Sales Specialist, you will be a member of the ArcBest Customer Service Team. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on work load.

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
  • Bachelor degree or combination of equivalent education and experience in transportation or logistics preferred
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in a customer service or administrative position
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Effective customer service and problem solving skills
  • Ability to provide quantitative analysis
