Currently, we are looking for a Logistics Truckload Dispatcher I to join the ArcBest team. The Logistics Truckload Dispatcher I position is a blend of Operations, Sales, and Customer Service.  This position builds a vast knowledge of surface transportation in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada that is used to match available carriers with loads secured by ArcBest. The Logistics Truckload Dispatcher I offers a vast array of responsibilities and exposure to all aspects of a transportation brokerage operation and serves as the day-to-day contact for Drivers and Load Planners.   

Your contribution may include:

  • Work closely with Sales to help secure available equipment.
  • Negotiate rates with third party carriers to secure capacity.
  • Expand and further develop ArcBest’s dedicated carrier list.
  • Review and maintain all pertinent information for carrier files.
  • Manage loads proactively, from dispatch to delivery.
  • Serve as primary contact to Drivers and Load Planners.
  • Coordinate home time requests and facilitate roadside assistance as needed.
  • Monitor hours of service to ensure timely delivery and proactively make appointment changes.
  • Communicate proactively with Shippers and Receivers to schedule and reschedule appointments.
  • Work in a team setting to accomplish goals with emphasis on account and teammate backup.
  • Answer inbound customer phone calls and handle professionally and appropriately.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As the Logistics Truckload Dispatcher I, you will be a member of the ArcBest Dedicated Operations team in Sparks, NV. Your work hours will generally be 6:00 am – 7:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload. Work hours vary based on scheduling to provide market coverage during normal business hours.  Ready to apply? Before doing so, please make sure you meet the minimum requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
